Hotel Papier

Beautiful stationery from remarkable hotels.

Almost everyone has taken stationery from a hotel room. A sheet of letterhead, a notepad, an envelope, slipped into a bag on the last morning — not really stolen, because what else is it for. It sits in a drawer at home for years.
Hotel stationery is the rare piece of design that is free, beautiful, and meant to leave with you. When you finally write on it, the letter arrives somewhere carrying the name of a place you were happy — and that gets into what you wrote.
We find the best of it, tell the story of who designed it and why, and put it back into circulation so it gets written on instead of kept.

What an edition is
The catalogue

Editions

An edition is one hotel’s stationery, published properly.

We work with the hotel to reissue its stationery — letterhead, notecards, envelopes, pencils, and a sleeve to post it in — as a finite numbered run, with the design history set down alongside it. Who drew the crest. Which press printed it. What was lost when the identity last changed.

The hotel is paid, and keeps its stationery in print. We do the research, the design, the production and the shipping. Nothing is reprinted: when an edition is gone it stays on this page as a record of a thing that existed.

No hotel is named here until its stationery is in hand.

The directory

Where to buy hotel stationery

A directory of every hotel we can find that already sells its own stationery to the public.
Hotels that sell their own stationery to the public
Every hotel below was checked by hand on 13 September 2026 — prices read from the shop's own product feed or a live page. Links go to the hotel's shop; Hotel Papier takes no commission and earns nothing from them. If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
For hotels

If your hotel has stationery,
we would like to see it.

Hotel Papier is an independent publishing project about the correspondence and printed culture of remarkable hotels. We want to see what you print — the letterhead, the notecards, the pads, the envelopes — and hear where the design came from, who drew it, and what was lost the last time the identity changed.

What we are looking for

Letterhead, writing pads, envelopes, correspondence cards, postcards, pens and pencils. Current, discontinued, or sitting in an archive. We are particularly interested in material from an identity a hotel no longer uses — the boxes in the store cupboard that stopped being stationery and started being furniture.

What we are not

Not a memorabilia shop, not a reseller, and not a merchandise programme. One hotel at a time, published properly, with the story told in full. Anything involving your name or identity is approved by you first.

How a pilot works
01
A conversation
We ask what you have. Often the answer is a photograph of a shelf. There is no commitment at this stage.
02
You provide an agreed quantity and permission
Nothing leaves the property until the terms are written down and you have approved them.
03
We handle everything else
Story, photography, packaging, ecommerce, fulfilment and customer service. There is no upfront cost to the hotel for a pilot.
04
You receive the work back
A polished editorial feature and all photography, yours to use. Direct links to the property. Aggregate results after the edition closes. An agreed commercial benefit where appropriate.
On your name

Every edition carries a line stating plainly that it is an edition and not the hotel’s correspondence service. Numbering, outer packaging and a provenance card sit outside the object itself, so the paper is never altered. If there is a line you would rather we did not cross — official letterhead, say, but postcards are fine — that is a normal answer and we would rather know early.

What we are honestly offering a first hotel is taste, effort, storytelling, production, distribution and preservation — and possibly revenue. We are not promising bookings, a large audience or influencer reach. Those do not exist yet, and we would rather say so.

About

For people who still write.

Hotel Papier finds remarkable stationery from remarkable places, tells the story behind it, and puts it back into circulation.

Every hotel worth staying in has, at some point, put its name on a sheet of paper and left it in a drawer where a guest might find it. Most of that paper is never written on. It leaves in a suitcase, or it is thrown away when the identity changes, or it sits in a store cupboard behind the linen room until somebody asks.

We ask. Then we publish one hotel at a time, in finite numbered editions, with the design, the paper, the process and the history set down properly — and we put a pen and a stamp in the box, because the object of the exercise is a letter arriving somewhere.

Editions are not reprinted. When one is gone it stays here as a record of a thing that existed.

Hotel Papier is independent. The directory links to each hotel’s own shop; we take no commission and earn nothing from those links. No hotel is named before its stationery is in hand.
